The Michigan Youth Education Fund was founded by Grand Valley State University students to support the activities that made them successful in high school, college, and beyond! Our team is dedicated to supporting our mission, through volunteerism, advocacy, and more! The Michigan Youth Education Fund was founded by students and continues to be operated by students today! Position: Volunteer

We rely on volunteers to run the Michigan Youth Education Fund. Volunteers help to support our outreach initiatives, program work, fundraising, communications, and so much more. Join our team today!

Position: Intern

We are looking for several interns to support our mission and programming in various operational areas. Interns will work closely with the Executive Director and gain valuable nonprofit administration experience. Interns have the opportunity to develop and join our volunteer staff & board of directors.

REQUIRMENTS
  • Access to internet and familiar with G-suite.
  • Spend ~10 hours a week on volunteer work.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently.

Position: Board Member

We are looking for individuals passionate about our mission and making a positive impact in Michigan students’ lives to join our diverse board of directors. Board members help to set our strategic direction and ensure the Michigan Youth Education Fund has adequate resources to carry out its mission.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience as either an educator, school board member/administrator, or nonprofit board member or currently a student.
  • Nonprofit governance.
  • Interpersonal Skills & Leadership.
REQUIRMENTS
  • Attend quarterly board meetings.
  • Contribute time, treasure, and talent.
  • Participate in fundraising events.
  • Share messaging on social media.
  • Connect with your community.
